Model Berlage

Five-panel

Hendrik Petrus Berlage played a key role in Dutch architecture. Later, his architectural style also gained international significance. His designs were inspired by craftsmanship and visible construction. A crucial principle was that decorative elements should be subordinate to the whole. At De Rooy, we fully align with this vision. That’s why our five-panel layout is named Berlage.

Elegant, honest, and purposeful

Berlage’s early style was neo-stylistic, but over time he developed a blend of rationalism and Jugendstil. This style became apparent when he designed the Beurs van Berlage. Anyone walking through Amsterdam cannot miss Berlage’s influence, but his designs can also be found beyond the capital. He designed the Sint-Hubertus Hunting Lodge and the Gemeentemuseum in The Hague, the latter of which he regarded as his masterpiece. Berlage was an inspiration to many architects, including Dudok.

Application of the Berlage steel door

Our Berlage model is beloved by many of our clients. One project we are especially proud of is the installation of our steel doors in Vienna. There, we fitted the stunning five-panel steel doors in a beautiful commercial building. The result is breathtaking. The Berlage panel layout gives the property an open yet solid appearance. Everyone entering the building does so through our doors. Curious to see our Berlage model?
