This remarkable project in a historic building in Amsterdam highlights the versatility of steel doors. We installed several steel doors that fit seamlessly with the building’s heritage. The project was a collaboration with Bureau Fraai. During the renovation, the property’s historic character was carefully preserved and enriched with modern elements—an outcome that is both respectful and striking.
Perfect balance between history and modern design
The renovation was prompted by overdue maintenance. Bureau Fraai rose to the challenge with an exceptional result. Before renovations began, the unique historical details were thoroughly documented to ensure their full preservation. The separation between front and back rooms and an open ensuite cabinet led to the choice of steel doors. Our doors align perfectly with the built-in cabinetry and bring a modern flair to the historic property.
