The Eclipse by Hoeshmand: one design, two faces

For The Loft by Hoeshmand, HMVD Architecten’s inspiring design space during The Art of Living in Rosmalen, we created a distinctive door design in which steel, wood and glass come together: The Eclipse.

At the heart of the space are two double steel pivot doors with the same design, yet with a completely different appearance. The door leading to the bedroom features more wood and less glass, creating privacy and calm. For the bathroom, by contrast, more glass was used, so that the freestanding bath and natural stone remain visible. The ribbed glass creates a refined balance between openness and shelter. The doors are fitted with a FritsJurgens pivot system.

The wooden panel infill was created by Wonderwall Studios. The dark side is finished in Bog Oak, while the lighter side is finished in Walnut. Together with the steel and glass, this creates a layered design in which each door has its own atmosphere. Want to know more about the vision behind this design?
