Grey steel doors in the heart of Amsterdam

In this upper-floor apartment in central Amsterdam, we installed a steel façade with a hinged door. Unique to this project is the use of Pebble Grey (RAL 7032) and Canale textured glass. Interior architect Francine Meerveld designed the space and was highly pleased with the result: “We’re very happy with the end result! The glass elements are true centrepieces in the home. The work and service from De Rooy contributed greatly to the overall vision.”

Spacious, light, and modern apartment

This former fixer-upper was transformed into a luxurious home by FELD Architects. Francine Meerveld explains: “The aim was a spacious, bright, and modern apartment that respected the beautiful 1905 architecture and its characteristic details.” The result is serene and elegant. The grey steel hinged doors are striking design elements that honour the building’s heritage.

Pebble Grey steel hinged doors

We installed the steel doors between the hallway and living space. Coated in fine-texture Pebble Grey powder (RAL 7032), the steel doors complement the light grey, durable flooring. The doors feature a Mendelsohn panel layout and a DRM-G5L handle. Thanks to semi-transparent Canale glass, the hallway can be visually closed off without sacrificing openness.
