Combination of metal and glass elements
Paxton’s design for the World Exhibition was initially viewed as complex and technically challenging. However, after completing his glass-and-iron conservatory for the Duke’s estate in Derbyshire—his now-famous greenhouse—people were convinced. His exhibition design drew from earlier work with glass and steel, which, in the mid-19th century, posed significant engineering challenges.
Application of the Paxton steel door
Our Paxton model can be found in this beautiful home in Huizen, a prime example of how this steel door model can shine. By opting for double steel doors, the residents created a regal entrance. Combined with glazed herringbone tiles on the floor, this entryway makes a lasting impression and feels welcoming. The shapes and curves of the Paxton model are also reminiscent of Romanesque architecture, known for its semi-circular arches and pillars.
