Meet Rohe and Aalto!

We recently added two new models with a unique panel layout to our collection. In line with our other models, these steel doors have been given distinctive names. We drew inspiration from architects known for their role in Modernist Architecture. Meet Rohe and Aalto!

Rohe
1-panel

Clean lines, minimalism, and a consistent use of glass and steel — that’s the style of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Rohe was a German-American architect who believed that proportions and materials had to be perfect. As a tribute to his famous quote “Less is More”, our single-panel door is now named Rohe.

Aalto
asymmetrical 3-panel

Alvar Aalto was a Finnish architect. His style is defined by good design that complements daily life. Aalto created functional products centred around human needs. Our asymmetrical 3-panel door is now called Aalto — a fitting name that reflects this architect’s distinctive character.

Names for
our steel doors

Early last year, we decided to give our steel doors characteristic names. We took our inspiration from architects in modern architecture, a period defined by geometric basic forms and modern materials — exactly the style that matches our steel doors. Our popular 4-panel door is called Dudok, and our 3-panel door is named after the versatile designer Rietveld. Read more about the names behind our steel doors in our earlier blog post.
