Manufacturing process
We manufacture our steel doors in our workshop in Veenendaal. We do this because we believe in high quality, bespoke solutions and craftsmanship. Every door we make is the result of dedication and precision. Our craftsmen combine traditional handwork with modern technology to create your steel door. Our production process consists of several stages, which you can read more about here.
Preparation and planning
STEP 1Once you have approved our quotation, our colleagues will visit you to take the correct measurements. Our draughtsmen ensure that every drawing is accurate to the millimetre. Once everything has been approved, our colleagues in the workshop get to work.
Precision with the tube laser
STEP 2To produce our steel doors, we use a tube laser. This is an advanced machine that cuts steel tubes and profiles to size with exceptional precision. This allows us to prepare every component down to the smallest detail and ensures that everything fits together perfectly. The great advantage of this technique is its precision, speed and consistent quality.
Construction and welding
STEP 3Once the preparation is complete, we begin rolling, cutting and welding the steel profiles. This is done with the utmost precision to ensure that everything fits exactly. We roll and shape the profiles so that they take on the correct form. This is highly precise work, with continuous checks to make sure everything is correct. The doors are ground to size, after which the frame is welded all around. After welding, the door is carefully ground, cleaned and filed smooth. This creates the characteristic sleek finish of a De Rooy door.
A perfect coating
STEP 4We give our doors a high-quality finish. This can be done in two ways: with a powder coating or a Royor coating. A powder coating is a strong, scratch-resistant layer that protects the door against rust and wear. This process is carried out in a special spray booth, after which the door is cured in the oven. If you choose our Royor coating, we apply it by hand. This gives the door a distinctive look that you will not find anywhere else.
Final assembly and quality control
STEP 5After coating, the door goes to final assembly. Here, the glass is carefully fitted and securely fixed in place, and the door is finished with high-quality hinges, systems and handles. Every door undergoes a strict quality check. Only when everything is 100% in order is the door prepared for transport.
Transport and installation
STEP 6The final step: the door is delivered to the customer. We make sure that every order is complete and carefully packed, so that our fitters can install the door without any issues. Our fitters install the door with precision, ensuring that it functions perfectly and has exactly the appearance you had in mind.
Sustainable and local: De Rooy steel doors ‘Made in Holland’
We produce our steel doors entirely in the Netherlands and do not outsource anything to other countries. This is a conscious choice. We believe in quality and control. By making everything ourselves, we can guarantee the highest standards. In addition, this approach allows us to create jobs and invest in Dutch craftsmanship.
