What should you consider when choosing steel doors for a wine cabinet?
A wine collection deserves to be displayed. Whether you have a few special bottles or a large collection, steel doors are the perfect way to showcase your collection.
However, no two wine cabinets are the same. If you opt for a climate-controlled wine cabinet, for example, you need to consider factors such as the type of glass, rubber seals and drop seals. In this article, we take a closer look at the choices you will need to make and share several examples of wine cabinets with steel doors.
Steel doors for a wine cabinet: climate-controlled or not?
If you are a wine enthusiast, a wine cabinet is almost indispensable. However, every wine cabinet is different. Are you choosing steel doors for a climate-controlled wine cabinet? In that case, the doors must be fitted with insulating glass. The doors must also seal properly. That is why, for a climate-controlled wine cabinet, we always recommend steel hinged doors with a rubber seal and a drop seal. Will the wine cabinet not be climate-controlled? In principle, anything is possible, depending, of course, on the space in which the wine cabinet will be installed.
Our advice: black or bronze, possibly with tinted glass
We usually recommend a black or bronze coating. This really allows the wine bottles to stand out and gives the wine cabinet a sleek and luxurious appearance. Clear glass or slightly tinted glass is also an attractive choice. After all, the wine bottles deserve to be seen! A (climate-controlled) wine cabinet with hinged doors
In this villa in Naarden, we installed several steel doors throughout the entire home. Naturally, we continued this style in the wine cabinet. The wine collection has been given a prominent place in the kitchen-diner and consists of two sections: a specially climate-controlled unit and a separate wine rack. The steel hinged doors feature a black Powder Coating and tinted glass.
Curved pivot doors for a wine cabinet
At Max View’s Inspiration Studio in Doetinchem, we see the same effect: a specially climate-controlled unit surrounded by wine racks containing the finest champagnes and wines. This combination provides plenty of design freedom when choosing the steel doors. A unique feature of this project is the curved panels. This turns the wine cabinet into a true eye-catcher within the space.
Steel doors for a wine cellar
This luxury home features a spacious wine cellar. Here, we installed a steel façade with a hinged door and also produced various components for the wine cellar. A special detail is the bottle racks attached directly to the steel frames of the façade. This allows the finest wines to be displayed.
Double pivot doors for a steel wine rack
Finally, we would like to share this beautiful wine cabinet. The double steel pivot doors provide access to a spacious wine rack containing the finest wines. The black steel keeps the focus on the green natural stone and the bottles.
