The Arc: a harmony of lines and elegance
We are proud to present the latest model in our collection: The Arc. This refined design, created by Mariska Jagt (Yume Atelier), combines clean lines with subtle curves. It perfectly balances strength and elegance. We spoke with Mariska about this unique model of steel doors and her vision behind the design.
A masterpiece of refinement
The name of the new door design, The Arc, was carefully chosen and reflects the essence of the concept. ‘The name is twofold,’ Mariska explains. ‘It refers to the arch shape that plays a central role in the design, but also to the golden ratio, a principle I often rely on in my work. My designs always radiate a certain elegance and refinement, and you can clearly see that in The Arc. The clean lines are softened by an arch meeting at the centre, giving the whole a feminine touch.’
Clean lines, soft curves
The design of The Arc is a play between clean straight lines and soft curves, coming together in perfect harmony. Mariska says: ‘The arch in the middle and the rounded shapes of the handle give the door a unique elegance. The handle, positioned on top, has a subtle curve that can incorporate materials such as leather, adding an extra dimension to the design.’ Thanks to the design choices made, The Arc fits seamlessly into almost any interior. ‘The design is understated and timeless, allowing it to shine in many different environments,’ says the designer. ‘I can picture it in both beautiful homes and hospitality spaces such as boutique hotels. It would truly be an asset there.’
A collaboration based on trust
The collaboration between the designer and De Rooy started through a mutual connection and has grown steadily since. ‘When we were introduced, there was an immediate click. What I appreciate about this company is their modesty and integrity. Despite their international success, they remain grounded. This creates a pleasant collaboration, where I can operate freely as a creative. This leads to the most beautiful designs, supported by their technical and commercial expertise.’
