Model Rituals: understated use of materials
Osiris Hertman is renowned for his high-quality designs and unique creations. Our collaboration began in 2016 with the design of unique handles for a set of steel doors. Over the years, we have worked together extensively, which has ultimately resulted in a new collection of steel doors designed by Osiris. Today, we proudly present the first new model: Rituals. We spoke with the designer about the creation of this beautiful steel door model and the added value of perfect material use.
Bringing rituals back into the home
‘We need more rituals in a modern home,’ Hertman explains when asked about his design process.
‘Many things that used to be so natural are no longer part of daily life. Washing up together, or waiting for the kettle to boil before sharing a cup of tea… We miss these kinds of rituals in today’s homes.’
Inspired by this longing for old rituals, the idea for the Rituals model was born.
‘Every time you open the door, I want you to pause and appreciate the beauty of the home. Every time you feel a solid door handle in your hand, you momentarily reflect on the value of what the door gives access to – your home, your family, your child’s room. A good interior, like nature, brings you peace.’

Perfect use of materials
The Rituals model is defined by its chosen use of materials. Unique to the design is the inlay of natural materials in the handle.
‘The design is simple, as if drawn by a child. It radiates calm and elegance. The depth and intelligence of this model are found in the material. The combination of real wood and the authentic feel of bronze brings a sense of calm to the door and the interior. It is therefore perfectly suited to an understated interior, and for example, soft wallpaper.’
