‘Made in Holland’ steel doors
De Rooy steel doors are made in Holland. We design and install them entirely ourselves, because we take pride in our craftsmanship. That’s something we’re proud of. In close cooperation with selected suppliers, we’ve established our own production process. This allows us to produce doors entirely to specification. One of those partners is FritsJurgens, supplier of a unique pivot system.

The pivot system is an elegant rotation mechanism for doors. It allows doors to swing open in both directions, creating a smooth and accessible experience. What’s unique about the FritsJurgens pivot system is that we mount the hinge inside the door, instead of the floor or ceiling. This saves a lot of time and costs.

We proudly take inspiration from Dutch designers. Dutch industrial design is internationally recognised as ‘Dutch Design’. Designers from the Netherlands are among the best in the world. We carry that national pride into our work.

Osiris Hertman
We recently collaborated with renowned designer Osiris Hertman. He designed a unique set of handles for a pair of steel doors, perfectly suited to the interior of a private residence. Hertman’s designs are defined by detailed craftsmanship — perfectly suited to our expertise in steel. “That’s what I like about working with De Rooy — their artisanal approach,” said Hertman.

Piet Boon
For door hardware, we regularly use stainless steel handles designed by Piet Boon, a Dutch furniture and interior designer. His style fully reflects the Dutch design ethos: minimalist and unconventional. His focus on clean lines and verticality fits our steel doors perfectly.
Employment
and quality
Because we produce our doors in the Netherlands, we create local employment. As a Dutch company, we believe we have a responsibility to support the job market here. We consciously choose not to outsource production to low-wage countries in order to save costs. That way, we avoid exploitation elsewhere and support jobs at home.
